Welcome to Prairie School!

Prairie School is a TK-3 school with approximately 300 students in attendance.  Prairie School is located in a beautiful rural area between Anderson and Redding, on the eastside of I-5 on  Dersch Road. Prairie School sits amongst farmland and neighborhoods and boasts gorgeous views of Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta. Prairie serves children from both Redding and Anderson, with many students on interdistrict transfers.

The staff at Prairie is here to graciously serve students and families. We want all students to be successful. It is our mission to prepare students to be confident and empowered leaders for tomorrow’s world.  Prairie School offers excellent academics. We offer standards-driven curriculum with engaging classrooms. You will find learning environments for all students, from general education classes to special education classes, and from music to art and physical education.

Prairie School is near and dear to my heart. Not only is it my fourth year as principal, I was a teacher here for 18 years and my grown children are former Prairie Panthers. I am ecstatic to be here in the administration role at this amazing school. I truly feel like I have come home. It has been my dream to return to Prairie and work side by side with the amazing staff and teachers we have here.

I look forward to seeing each child achieve to their best abilities. Every student is absolutely important and able to learn, and we look forward to providing them with the means to grow. Prairie truly is the best-kept secret in town.
